Jeff's writings are wonderful, hilarious and irreverent, as well as powerful indictments of what passes for Pentagon strategy and leadership these days - and we talked about Afghanistan and in a way, what future historians will say about our adventures abroad.

Monday  10/26/2009    1st Hour    2nd Hour    First hour: We spoke with Alison Weir, founder of http://www.ifamericansknew.org, on the recent executive order signed by Obama relieving Israel of a tariff on Israeli butter imports to this country -in a time where the American dairy industry is in a severe crisis. From economic policy an aid to Israel, we moved on the discussing the Goldstone Report, and what it said about the Israeli invasion and assault on Gaza last December.

Second hour: Our guest was former FBI agent and woman of conscience Coleen Rowley. Coleen sought to represent the 2nd Congressional District in Minnesota in 2006, and shared some of her assessment of what it takes to become a member of Congress. Friday  10/23/2009    1st Hour    2nd Hour    First hour: We spoke at length with 27-year intelligence analyst Ray McGovern, who is also co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, and a co-worker of Sam Adams, namesake of the Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence. Ray shared some of the highlights from this past weeks events in Washington, featuring Larry Wilkerson, the 2009 recipient of the Sam Adams Award and Daniel Ellsberg, among other great men and women of conscience including Coleen Rowley, Sam Provance, ad Craig Murray. He pointed out the latest NIE on Iran probably prevented an expansion of American war, and that amazingly, we do not have a current NIE on Afghanistan, 9 years into that conflagration.

Wednesday  10/21/2009    1st Hour    2nd Hour    First hour: We spoke with Mark Weber -- historian, author, lecturer and current affairs analyst -- and director of the Institute for Historical Review, an independent, public interest educational center and publisher based in southern California that works to promote peace, understanding and justice through greater public awareness of the past, and especially socially-politically relevant aspects of twentieth-century history. We defined and discussed historical revisionism, and spoke at length about US-Israel relations.

Second hour: In the first thirty minutes, we spoke with Tim Baldwin, an attorney who received his Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a former felony prosecutor for the Florida State Attorney's Office and now owns his own private law practice. He is author of a soon-to-be-published new book, entitled FREEDOM FOR A CHANGE and coming out in November. Tim is also one of America's foremost defenders of State sovereignty. 2nd hour: Encore of Retired Brigadier General Janis Karpinski, commander of the three large US and British-led prisons in Iraq in 2003. Gen Karpinski oversaw all military police in Iraq and was the first female ever to command soldiers in a combat zone. In May 2005, she was demoted from Brigadier General to Colonel over the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal. She remains the highest-ranking military officer reprimanded for the abuse. She's the author of the 2005 book, "One Woman's Army: The Commanding General of Abu Ghraib Tells Her Story" In April, the Senate Armed Services committee released a report vindicating Karpinski's experience and pointing to top level authorizations for torture at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, Bagram and other military prisons.
